Japanese PM, Chinese VP meet to promote bilateral ties |

TOKYO, Dec. 14 (Xinhua) -- Visiting Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping met with Japanese Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama Monday and they discussed ways to further develop the strategic mutually beneficial relationship between the two countries.
Xi arrived in Japan earlier in the day. His visit is the first by a Chinese state leader since the new Japanese government took office in September.
"The Chinese government and Chinese leaders attach great importance to China-Japan relations and the purpose of my visit is to further improve the strategic mutually beneficial relationship," Xi said during the meeting. ......more
