Today's power transfer from the coalition forces of US and UK to the Iraqi interim government is a significant event in the process of Iraq's political transition. We congratulate the Iraqi people on the event and hope the Iraqi interim government can, under the help of the international community including the United Nations, unite all the Iraqi people to stabilize the local security situation as soon as possible, promote the Iraqi political transition process and the realization of self-governance, and make concerted efforts to build an independent, peaceful and prosperous Iraq.
